**My dudes, this one is for you.**

*Volume One: To Him* opens a particular path through the developing Intend to Relate framework. We are speaking directly to men—honestly, deliberately, and sometimes bluntly. Everyone is welcome to listen, consider, question, and participate.

The starting point is not what someone else wants from you.

It is where you stand in your own life.

What value do you place on your time, attention, health, pleasure, peace, and possibilities? What does your participation mean to you? And how does that understanding affect the relationships you enter, the commitments you make, and the invitations you accept or decline?

These questions begin a conversation about self-valuation, confidence, assessment, and intentional participation. They also open into something larger: how we recognize value, encounter other people, test our understandings, and decide what is worth creating together.

## Where we begin

The opening episode, **“Heuristics of Confidence & the Default Rule of Assessment,”** begins developing what we call **The Power Position of Self-Valuation**.

This is not a claim that you are better than other people. It is a position from which to recognize that your life and participation have value—and to let that recognition inform actual decisions.

We begin making value more visible through **The Base Economic Value as a Cognitive Tool** and the invitation to **Quantify and Articulate the Intangible Values**. Money provides one measurable reference point. It does not exhaust the value of friendship, pleasure, care, meaning, or time well spent.

From there, **Heuristics of Confidence** offer positions from which to think and act. **The Default Rule of Assessment** turns our attention toward the encounter: who is this person, what do they want, and what value might participation hold for us?

Confidence is not the end of the inquiry. Our positions and propositions must also remain available for reality testing.

The intention is to become more deliberate—not merely more certain.

## A path through the work

*To Him* is not the finished book. It is a podcast accompanying the development of the forthcoming first volume of the Intend to Relate canon.

The original **Intend to Relate Podcast** develops the broader vocabulary and framework. *To Him* gives that exploration a particular address and a particular starting point.

We will move between ideas and their consequences: what we value, where our attention goes, what we imagine about other people, and what we actually encounter. Concepts introduced early will give us something to work with as the questions become more demanding.

This is an invitation into an intellectual adventure with practical stakes. Your life is not merely something to explain. It is something you are participating in.

## Where should I start?

Begin with **Episode One: “Heuristics of Confidence & the Default Rule of Assessment.”**

For the broader foundations, Season One of the original **Intend to Relate Podcast** provides an introduction to the shared vocabulary and orientation.

Then follow the questions.

You do not have to accept every formulation or adopt every tool. Consider what a proposition means, try applying it, and notice where it holds—or where your experience challenges it.

And let us hear from you. Bring a question, a disagreement, an unexpected application, or something you think we have missed. We are interested in a conversation, not merely an audience.

**Join us for Volume One: To Him.**

Be free, and be good to each other—intentionally.
